Inch UNF Fine Pitch Free-Running Wire Thread Inserts for Aerospace
Product introduction
Metric locking wire threaded inserts provide a robust solution for creating durable internal threads in low-strength base materials. When installed into pre-tapped holes in aluminum or magnesium alloys, these inserts distribute load evenly across the thread flanks, significantly enhancing pull-out strength and fatigue resistance.
Manufactured from high-quality austenitic stainless steel (SUS304), our inserts feature a diamond-shaped cross-section that ensures radial expansion upon installation. This creates a secure, interference fit without the need for adhesives or additional fasteners. The locking version includes a crimped coil that grips the screw thread, preventing loosening due to shock or vibration—making it perfect for dynamic environments.

Available in standard metric sizes from M2 to M20, with custom lengths (1D, 1.5D, 2D, etc.), these inserts comply with international standards including DIN 8140 and MS21209. Surface treatments include natural finish, eco-friendly color plating (blue, red, green for visual identification), zinc plating, and dry-film lubrication for high-temperature or mildly corrosive conditions.
Installation is simple: drill, tap, insert using a standard installation tool, then break off the tang. No special equipment required. Once installed, the wire threaded insert transforms a weak threaded hole into a high-performance, reusable steel thread that outlasts the parent material.
Widely used in automotive transmissions, drone frames, medical devices, and aircraft components, these inserts enable lightweight design without compromising structural integrity. They also allow for cost-effective repair of stripped threads, turning scrap parts back into functional assemblies.
Choose our metric locking wire threaded inserts for unmatched reliability, corrosion resistance, and design flexibility in demanding engineering applications.
